This is my first year teaching Kindergarten and I don't have many hands on materials for them to use. These teaching tools will be used in conjunction with our literacy program. We will learn a new letter and letter sound a day. When a new letter is introduced the teaching tub will help the students see objects that begin with that letter. My goal for my students is to learn all their letters and sounds by Christmas. The donation will help my students engage in the learning of the letters of the alphabet and the sounds they make. I believe that children (and adults) learn best by hands on, engaging activities. Unfortunately, I do not have many age appropriate puzzles or games for my Kinders. The puzzles and games I am requesting are all educational tools that will help them learn their abc's and their numbers. Because they are puzzles and games - it will be fun and they students will have fun while they are learning. It will provide my students hands on learning of the letters rather than simply looking at a chart. These students need to see objects in real life to get a better grasp on things. I feel these tubs will provide confidence to learn the letters.
