By acquiring a 3d printer, my students will be able to dream up and create unique parts for their FIRST Tech Challenge competition robots, Raspberry Pi and Arduino projects, and give back to the community. Students feel tremendous pride and become deeply invested when they create a robot or a part for it, and by supplying them with a 3d printer they will build skills such as creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving while becoming even more engaged with STEM. In addition to increasing engagement in STEM by bringing their ideas to life, my students will use this Makerbot 3d printer to help motivate and engage middle school students we mentor as well as create prosthetic limbs to donate to the e-Nable community.
