My hope is to provide several options for my students' individual learning needs. I've purchased swivel chairs, seat cushions, chair bands, and hand fidgets for my students to utilize in the classroom. These have already been a great success and are used by all of my students. I've noticed that even students that do not have attention or hyperactivity issues benefit from different options besides sitting at a desk. Students are more likely to take ownership and responsibility for their actions and learning when they are comfortable and free to learn in a way that works for them. Having stand up desks will allow my students the flexibility to stand and move around without distracting other classmates-giving every learning the chance to stay focused and learn! I've seen first hand how excited my own child was to use the stand up desk with a swivel bar at his school. He told me that he could concentrate so much better when he was able to stand and move his feet. He said he didn't feel like falling asleep anymore and couldn't wait to show his teacher how well he could do on his work now that he wasn't sleepy all day! The seat sacks are a classroom item that I've always wanted to keep the books that I've purchased in great shape. I'm always spending money on new books for my classroom but get frustrated when they are torn up or lost inside a student's desk. The seat sacks will help keep the students' library books and classroom books in good shape for several years!
