These great bunch of kids are now moving with me to fifth grade! I'm so excited to get them moving into higher level books and more critical thinking that goes along with them. We're located on the South side of Chicago surrounded by public housing and a humble but hardworking community. Mostly all of them come from a low-income household so I have to find resources wherever I can get them. My kiddos need the basics always--paper, pencils, notebooks, and crayons! However, this year since I'm moving up a grade level with them, they really need new books--lots of them! Our library is ready for all the books we need. We have bins upon bins, a colorful carpet for our reading nook, and some bright yellow bean bags, but we need more books. These 32 students who will be entering fifth grade in the fall will be pleased to see a new theme which I'm still deciding upon--Movie "Stars" or "Fin"tastic Fifth!
