Circle Time is a daily activity for my students. At the rug, we can check in on a social emotional level, review our letters, discuss the date and the weather, and most importantly: read. I love reading out loud to my students, and sitting at the rug is where I can get on their level to build engagement in our read alouds. Additionally, I hope to offer the rug as a flexible seating option for independent reading times (as well as small group instruction) so my students can feel comfortable and safe while reading and learning.
