My project is about eliminating maladaptive behaviors which takes away from instructional time and lowers student achievement. Flexible seating is not only for the student whose always twisting and turning but flexible seating has benefits for all students. This project is not to single out one or two children but a benefit to the entire class as a whole. It is my goal to use flexible sitting in my classroom to help with maladaptive behaviors and to provide an alternative to the stanadard seating. Studies have shown that flexible seating in classrooms help children to stay on task and focused during lessons and centers throughout the school day.
