My students are from a low-income neighborhood in the Bronx, but they're incredibly hard-working and really love the opportunity to engage in hands-on lab activities. I've ALWAYS been told that activities are what really gets my kids going and what really excites them about science, in comparison to any other subject in school. My school is focused on law and civic duty, and the students have always had a distinct interest in learning science in a tangible and realistic way, and they are always excited to learn new things. Having supplies would provide my students with a wealth of opportunities for true scientific experimentation and engagement.
