These materials provide me with resources to help create a safe place within my classroom for students in my school. The teacher guide will help me provide activities to teach student these skills needed to calm down prior to being upset. The books put our emotions in kid friendly terms so we can choose the book that explains how they are feeling and read it together while they use a sensory object to calm down. These materials give the students a place that they can feel safe and can work through their emotions in a positive environment. They can go here without fear of getting in trouble or their emotions being escalated in the regular classroom environment.
