I am planning to change my normal morning work routine to “free time” with STEM building blocks. Instead of giving my students a worksheet first thing in the morning, I would rather have them start the day with freedom and creativity. This not only starts the day by enriching students' brains, but also has them working on social and group skills. I would like to have 9+ STEM textile activities available to students, with a bin to store all of them, but more would be amazing! I am hoping this will lower behavior issues within the first 30 minutes of the school day, as well. Students will do their morning routine, then pick a STEM building block to work with.
