By the time children enter kindergarten, they should be able to navigate computers and iPads alike, launching applications, and negotiating menus. Why? Because many of their classmates will have these skills, which are required for basic computer and iPad usage. By exposing Pre-K students to technology is helps them develop fine motor skills by using the mouse to move a cursor to a target on the screen; to be familiar with quality interactive applications, games, and/or activities; and understand the basic functions of a browser and the keyboard When students are given opportunity in Pre-K to mastery theses skill, when they are assessed in Kindergarten and grades beyond their skills should reflect that of content verse lack of computer skills.
