Come into our classroom, and you will find a very active group of 4 and 5 year olds. We have a very diverse class with various nationalities and cultures represented such as Hispanic, African American, Native American and Caucasian. One thing my students all have in common is their curious nature and desire to learn. For my students, our room is their first introduction in a school. This classroom sets the tone for the rest of their school lives. It is here is where they decide whether they will love school and learning or dread it every day. My students face many challenges day to day. They do not allow the challenges of being in poverty or having English as a second language set them back or hinder them from meeting their goals and learning all that they can!
