The students in my first grade class are vibrant and eclectic. They are very inquisitive about new topics and are eager to learn. The students make me laugh on a daily basis with new ideas and comments. Being in first grade, it is amazing to see the growth they make day to day. However, being in first grade means they are still so young. They constantly want to move and interact with the lessons. I want to provide them with the ability to do so. At the moment, I am still assessing their capabilities in areas of reading and mathematics. I feel they are stronger in math and this may be because there are more manipulatives to use. I know the more time I spend with them, the more I will be able to meet their needs for learning.
