It is crucial that children have experiences that they will be motivated to continue to practice all the way through their adult life. Studies show that some people still forget to recycle paper. In fact, it is estimated that only half of paper in the U.S. is recycled, which means we still have a long way to go to ensure that everyone is recycling paper. By embedding the knowledge of recycling paper in our youngest learners and motivating our scholars to have fun with their creations, this lesson will thrive with them for many years to come. By having this fundamental education at a young age, it will transform their habits in such a drastic way that recycling will just be as normal as drinking water from a cup. The materials from this project will allow teachers to create lessons that will engross children’s knowledge, while also providing them with the scientific experiences they deserve and so desperately need. In addition, these lessons will cause a positive impact on our environment.
