They will use these books and activities daily to develop an intrinsic love of reading during reading workshops and independent reading time! This will also help them on state reading assessments and ready them for the STAAR test next year. I also included books that promote racial equality and books that highlight ethnic pride since my class is mostly comprised of minority students. I'd like them to feel empowered at school and I believe a diverse library will make a HUGE difference in self-confidence and love. My students will greatly benefit and appreciate any contribution, so again, thank you!!
