Your donations will help create a safe, welcoming, and calming environment for students to learn self-regulation strategies and coping skills. The calming/sensory room will be a therapeutic space for students when they are feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and/or anxious. In this quiet space, students will have an opportunity to relax in sensory cubbies, flexible seating, or stretch out on a bean bag. Our calming/sensory room will have LED light illuminators, bubble tubes, weighted lap pads, musical and tactile toys, sensory wall panels, timers, and a variety of fidgets. The calming/sensory room will support our students in learning coping skills, recognizing their triggers, and increasing their ability to communicate their needs. I believe the benefits to our students and teachers will contribute to safe, positive classroom environments. Our students will learn life skills that will benefit their mental, physical, and emotional health throughout their adulthood. Our school administration, staff, parents, and students would be very appreciative of your donation to our calming/sensory room.
