We are EXTREMELY ACTIVE in our BIOLOGY CLASS!! Science should be EXCITING...filled with WONDER and IMAGINATION!! Having a dedicated Biology Notebook will not only help students with life-long organizational skills, but will also enable them to see themselves as scholars, scientists, and to take ownership of their creativity and hard-work. Students will use this composition notebook to make hypothesis, explain their lab observations, draw & label diagrams (collect data), vocabulary study, and note-taking skills to prepare them for college. Students often paste in colorful manipulatives to make their notebooks interactive, and more engaging. Students tell me each year, that they LOOK forward to BIOLOGY CLASS to explore the different life forms (microscope labs), getting their hands dirty (chromatography lab), and experiencing real-world authentic biotechnology (DNA extraction lab) of today's world! Interactive Notebooks are a great way to engage our students, and enable them to become more creative, organized and responsible. In my 16 years of teaching, I have found that creating an interactive notebook, helps to reach all learners, and ensures that everyone has the chance to succeed.
