Clean Getaway by Nic Stone is far more representative and relevant than our current 6th grade novel choice. As it stands, our current novel choice is neither of those things for our diverse mix of students. Nic Stone's Clean Getaway will be more engaging, relevant, and academically rigorous for our learners. This project will provide class copies of the text to three different language arts teachers at our school so that all of our 6th grade learners have access to an excellent, rigorous, and representative text. All students deserve to read about, learn from, and be inspired in their educational experience. "Clean Getaway" will enable that. We need your help because funding classroom sets of texts for multiple teachers is no cheap or easy task. These funds would provide enough classroom copies of the book for every 6th grade ELA teacher on our campus.
