As an English teacher, I know how important books and reading are to my students’ overall education. They are discovering the ways that reading opens their minds to new ideas, interesting characters, and a desire to continue learning. While our school library is a good resource for my students, many of the class collections of novels are books my students have already read. We just finished reading our 1st Quarter novels and each day students ask me what book we will read next. This project will offer these students new books to read, explore, and analyze. These kids are experiencing an increase in reading ability because they have become more avid readers, and these books will continue to help them grow and cultivate their love of literature. Each of them has already displayed an overwhelming interest in books, and this project will only help enrich their educational experience in my classroom.
