With a digital projector, I hope to deliver lessons and present material in an interesting way that allows students to better engage with the world around them, whether by watching short daily news clips, learning more about the authors whose works they're reading, viewing film adaptations of the works they read to deepen their understanding of the text, or Skypeing with students on another continent to develop a deeper cultural understanding of the world around them. We also need new dry erase markers for our teacher white boards and student white boards. With a projector, my students can probe deeper into the texts they read and make connections outside of the textbook and outside of the classroom, which is a skill they need as they prepare to graduate from high school and go to college or begin their career paths. A projector will have a lasting impact on my current students and future groups of students I teach.
