Hands-on learning is a great way to get students excited about learning! Each toolkit is composed of necessary manipulatives that can be used throughout first grade, for a multiple of modules and standards. Rather than sort and organize each toolkit item, the toolkit allows each student to have a set number of each manipulative, as well as an organized place to store their math manipulatives. Individual tool-kits will enable every student to have something that they can call theirs. As a title one school, most students are used to sharing items or not even having them to begin with. Giving each student the chance to have their own toolkit will help to instill a sense pride and responsibility within each child.
