My students attend a NYC community school in a 12:1 special education classroom. They are 3rd graders who have a range of disabilities from learning disabilities to emotional disturbances. They are extremely sweet, lovable children who all want to learn and love being in school. They just learn at a slower pace and need much more learning materials and support. They all learn in different ways, such as visually, auditory and kinesthetically so varying the instruction helps them all learn in their own individualized way. They struggle remembering things that they learned the previous day so any materials that can aid their memory will make a tremendous impact.
