In our Ethnic Studies class, students are studying the relationship between identity and power. Some of our identities are marginalized and some bring us privilege. As we are seeing more and more in our country, some people use their privilege to discriminate against others. My students are learning how to fight against discrimination and they need this button maker to do it! Pulling inspiration from buttons created by Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta for the United Farm Workers Union, my students will create buttons showcasing causes they support and issues about which they want to raise awareness. Please help support my students show their community all of the different things that matter to them!
