Having our own classroom Chromebooks will greatly aid my students in so many ways. This technology will assist my students in learning how to use the Google Classroom that our school now uses, both on campus and with distant learning. In the event that our school must close, again, due to COVID19, it is imperative that students understand how to navigate their way through the assignments, materials, and other aspects of our online classroom. The best way to do this is through hands on practice with an actual device that provides this experience. In addition to understanding the Google Classroom, the Chromebooks can assist my students in other ways. Teaching students in the gifted program requires that I keep my students challenged and engaged. They work very hard and enjoy many independent activities, assignments, and projects in our class, including their Career Research Project. In order to do this, I usually checkout technology sources from our library. Receiving the Chromebooks would give my students the opportunity to have immediate access to the internet for their big research project and so many other online activities, which would be incredible!!
