Classroom libraries are essential sources of reading materials for many of my students. Many students do not have access to books any other way. I want to update my selection of reading materials so my students can have current, relevant and interesting titles to choose from. I have selected titles that relate to the emotional needs of many students. The middle school years can bring such turmoil and confusion to so many students. They are dealing with issues that earlier generations never had. Books have the power to help students get through the day and feel less alone. Providing adolescents with books is a game changer. Books give them the tools they need to develop strong literacy skills and a lifelong interest in reading. Classroom libraries surround students with answers to many of their unique questions. The titles I have selected will help students understand themselves and their special place in society. Help me invest in the lives of another generation.
