My students love technology and I want to be able to make the lessons and the different concepts that we learn come alive for them. I would like to get iPad's for my classroom, so my students will be able to learn while doing hands-on activities. I will use different programs or apps on the iPad to teach different concepts like the alphabet, numbers, counting, colors, shapes. Also, when my students are using the iPad it will also help their fine motor skills because they will have to use only one finger to touch what they want. The more hands-on that the activities are, the more that my students will learn and the faster they will master the concept.
Along with making learning come alive for my students through the iPad, I want my students who are non-verbal to be able to communicate their basic wants and needs. I will also use the iPad's for communication as well, so my students who need help with communicating will be able to have a conversation with their peers or participate with everyone else during the lesson or during small groups (i.e. answering questions).
