I teach special education at a title one school. We use applied curriculum, and the students earn a certificate of completion-not a diploma. We have a kitchen in the classroom, so students can learn to cook and gain some living skills. We also work a lot on social skills. I also run a peer assisted learning program that allows general education students to take my class, model social skills, appropriate behaviors, and build relationships with the other students. This year, I have joined our football coaching staff. Some of my projects will be for classroom supplies and some will be football related.
