My classroom has 23-25 students, and our school is located in rural Minnesota. Technology and resources are used when available to differentiate instruction and allow for collaboration and creativity. Perseverance is fostered. A belief that you must have the answer every time is discouraged...learning the skills needed for finding the answers is our goal. In my classroom identifying student strengths is important, and building weaker skills something we work on. Students learn to evaluate their work and set goals. They discuss individual progress toward classroom goals and set an individually decided upon goal each trimester. Flexible seating is used and partner and small group work are a part of our day. I am an experienced teacher, but continually strive to improve my teaching and the classroom setting.
