Flexible seating has become a new phenomenon in education. As a science teacher, I feel it is important for when my students are doing inquiry-based lessons to have different seating options to meet their needs. This is going to be a three-step project. First, we are going to get the first set of flexible seating; then we are going to continue to build our classroom environment. As a special education teacher, I have found that content is best learned when students are in an environment where they feel comfortable to learn. We will be using our flexible seating daily in order to get the kids excited about coming to science and most important, comfortable to learn. I will use the flexible cushions for my students to use sitting on the floor or in a chair. This will give them something to wobble on to stimulate learning.
