Technology is the way to help kindergarteners learn the skills necessary to master the common core standards. Entering kindergarten many students have no letter knowledge and need more practice than teacher help. Using the iPads will allow the students to be engaged in learning and be responsible for their learning as they learn to be independent workers. Students will work on the iPad to review letters and sounds. Students will work on the iPad to practice their sight words which will help them meet the criteria for Reading to be on grade level for each grading period. Students will practice their numbers to learn how to decompose numbers.
