In my classroom, my students are invited to deconstruct the following Nas refrain: "Whose world is this? The world is yours." This means a number of things: They can write the world they want; they can discuss the world they want; they can strategize on cultivating the world they want; and, most importantly, they can read to know the world they want. As such, my students should realize and grow their own philosophies and passions with guides like Chimamanda Adichie, Shakespeare, Kafka, and others. This Reading World Literature library (which is named after my course) is an inarguably vital part of my classroom spirit...“Whose world is this? The world is yours.”
