I am a young teacher who wants to foster a strong cooperative learning environment by teaching both math and reading in small groups. I have a wide range of ability with my students. To make sure that all students academic needs are met, I find teaching material in small groups is best. Our classroom is a world wind of center rotations. For example, students will spend their given math time working directly with me at a small group table, they will rotate to a computer station where they play online games to keep their math facts sharp, they will spend time playing a card game with their peers, then finally at their desks completing an "exit slip" individually. My students need to be able to have a place for our classroom to foster a cooperative learning environment. With new tables and a new and accessible whiteboard, we can work in small groups!
