I first tested out flexible seating during our review week for final exams. Some students preferred to lay on the floor with a pillow to do their work, others decided to push their desks together, and a couple got to test out the rocking gaming chairs that I borrowed from a coworker with clipboards. I quickly learned that flexible seating helped keep my kids engaged and wanting to learn more. Flexible seating will allow my students to figure out what kind of learning environment best fits their needs and helps them to be successful in my class. The activity table will be a great way for students to set up their laptops and work together on assignments and projects. The yoga balls can be easily moved around and help those students who tend to fidget or rock in their chairs. The rocking gaming chairs were already a hit and students actually wanted to sit (and rock) right in front of the board while I taught.
