My students are kindergartners in a Spanish dual-immersion program. 75% of our students are native Spanish-speakers from low-income families who live in crowded apartments near our school. 25% of our students are English-speakers from more affluent neighborhoods. We are fortunate to have hands-on, inquiry-based science curriculum that the children find both fun and engaging. At this age, they view themselves as budding scientists and are eager to do science experiments. However, doing the activities is only the first step. My students also need to be able to document, describe and present what they are learning.

About my class
