These materials will provide my "Reader-Leaders" with access to literary genres, multicultural experiences, and mentor texts that celebrate diversity in themes and writing styles. Reading is an essential skill for my students' language development, and is fundamental to their overall academic achievement. With this project, I will be providing my students with ample opportunities to learn and practice English as a second language in an authentic context. My students will learn how to connect with and share experiences from the books that they read. The more they read, the more they will know, and the more they'll want to share!
