It will be my first year teaching third grade and I would love to have Chromebooks in my classroom for students to use as technology resources. I will be using the laptops in the classroom so my students can learn how to touch type which is a skill they will start to learn in third grade. It is especially important since it is the first year they will be taking their California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress. They will need to learn how to touch type their responses for this test. My students will also be using these Chromebooks for researching projects such as-- their bird project, cultural story project and Maidu project. They will also be using them to type their stories and essays in the classroom. These laptops will be used for literacy centers and a way students can listen and read along with stories. My students would greatly benefit from using these laptops in the classroom.
