Biology is a difficult subject to comprehend without visuals, engaging projects, and materials. To better engage my scholars, I hope to give them tangible items that remind them of their lessons and supplement their learning experience. As we begin our unit on plants and energy, there is no better way to be reminded of the beauty of mother nature than to have their own plant! A succulent plant would give my scholars a visual to recognize the beauty of indoor plants. There succulent plants would also to provide a deeper understanding of the content and how its applicable. Just as plants provide the energy we need the plant depends on my scholars to survive as we will take care of them in class. Without these generous donations, I would not be able to bring my classroom to life in a way that's engaging and aesthetic. I would love to give my scholars the responsibility of something living and explain to them the essential need to care and protect what is important on our planet - plants!
