Our school faces shortages in technology for all our students each year. Many of our dictionaries don’t work properly or staff computers go out all the time. Personally, I find myself handing out my technology to students during class to help them access information needed, such as college applications or the dictionaries and thesauruses. With your help, this equipment will benefit my students by providing access to the internet, news, apps, and dictionaries that allow students to get hands-on experience in their education. It will benefit both remote and in-person learning because I will have access to apps that allow for integration among in school and off-site students. Bring our course together. As an ELA teacher, we must be resourceful, we are like sponges, we must adapt, we are the technology that many of our student’s don’t have. Let’s be the technology, let’s blend it with the old, in order to become diverse enough to apply the skills needed to teach our future! It’s hard enough to do so with the little we have. Many times I found myself providing for technology out of pocket to those in need it’s draining but by providing me with better equipment it will be possible to access more students than ever before.
