Although our school is a Title 1 school we have had the honor of being named an A+ School of Excellence and an AVID Elementary showcase school. With our levels of distinction our numbers have grown. In my classroom I have 33 fourth graders. Even though it might seem we are busting out of the seams, our classroom never feels crowded. With my students following PRIDE: Posture, Respect, Investigate, Determination, and Engage, they work together every day to make sure everyone has a chance at success. Being Title 1 does have it's challenges. Most of my students come from homes that do not have the money to afford the technology that in this day of age is almost considered a necessity. The students in my room become excited and immediately engaged when using technology in the classroom. We have recently started going to the computer lab to learn coding and how to use the Google Drive. The level of engagement they show while doing both these activities is incredible.
