My students are avid readers who are thirsty for the latest bestsellers, protagonists that they can relate to, and stories that empower them. The love of reading comes with time to read, regular responses to their reading, and books they thoroughly enjoy. My students rely heavily on our classroom library being thoughtfully curated and maintained because these are the books that will allow them to learn who they are as readers, and as individuals. We are requesting a strong array of diverse and exciting independent reading books that will be added to our classroom library! Our titles include We'll Fly Away, Educated: A Memoir, Girl Made of Stars and many more. These books are consistent with the diverse student population I teach. Whether it's measured in gender, race, and/or sexual orientation, it is both diverse and inclusive. I am committed to giving my students more choices to help them develop as readers. I truly believe that the love for reading is within reach for all of my students, with a stimulating and rigorous classroom library. Thank you so much in advance!
