My students are incredible! Just like DC is made up of people who have come to the nation's capital from all over, my students also represent a wide range of backgrounds. My classroom represents this diversity of ethnicities, socioeconomic status, religions, genders, mathematical backgrounds, etc. Every student in our school is an honors student, regardless of their background or current skills and knowledge. We believe there is an innate ability to be a mathematician present in every student, and we communicate that to our students by providing every one of them an untracked honors math curriculum. These students rise to a challenge, even the challenge of coming back to the math classroom after a year and a half away. These students are future world-changers, and I'm honored to teach them every day.
