The following combination of books will provide information about Trauma and Crisis Management, Mental Health Specialist training, Cultural Competency, and Anxiety and Stress Management. In regards to the current events which are occurring, I will grow professionally by gaining knowledge, skills, and attributes about mental health, anxiety, trauma, grief, and suicide. Self-regulation is a component of increasing emotional intelligence, which enhances social awareness and social interaction. These books will impact our comprehensive school counseling program and enhance the relationship skills of students and staff. This project will help me become a better counselor by providing strategies to implement culturally sensitive services to our students and to normalize discussing mental health in the school setting. It will also help me become a better school counselor by providing opportunities to connect and collaborate with more experienced school counselors.
