My students are largely English Language Learners who need rich, authentic experiences to develop connections and enhance language skills. We learn in a variety of ways by developing a learning community within the classroom. Students rely upon each other to develop understanding and reach educational goals. They become mentors to each other and provide support to their peers. This not only helps them reach their academic aims, but also improves their social skills.
