There is already multiple times in the school day when iPads could be used. We have Guided Reading 4 days a week. This is a time when scholars are broken up into groups to practice reading skills with a teacher, a teacher's aide, and independently. Right now, this is done with books and endless printouts. With an iPad, scholar engagement can increase and the number of passages they read may too. Our scholars already have accounts with ReadWorks and epic!. Having iPads would mean that they could access these accounts more frequently, at least 4 times a week, during Guided Reading. Donating to this project means you are helping our scholars access their education in a new and exciting way. Not only do we have opportunities in reading, but we also have opportunities in math to use these tools. Once a week, we have Math Centers. This is another time of day when scholars are broken up into groups to meet with the teachers or work interdependently. Right now this looks like educational dice and card games, and worksheets. Our scholars already have access to math accounts through Zearn. This allows them to practice math skills on their own and level them up as they pass certain skills. But, there are even more ways to practice math. The iPad would allow us to download these math games and scholars could use them when not working with a teacher. We need your help to make these visions possible! Please consider donating to our vision!
