My students are special education students in grades kindergarten to fifth. My specialty is helping kiddos who are dealing with emotional issues and trauma. My students not only need help with learning to read and write but to manage behavior and become motivated learners. I have worked to build my classroom into a positive, and kind community full of 21st learners and now I have moved to a new school where I hope to be able to do the same! Because my students are in a smaller setting, we spend a lot of time working on behaviors and social skills. We work a lot on how to calm our minds when we are frustrated. Music, Yoga, and breathing techniques have been some of my student's preferred methods. Our school for my students should be a safe haven and that is what I try to create. I want my students to come to school and not worry about being hungry, cold, or bullied.
