Our school has recently purchased Google Chromebooks for all 3rd-5th grade students. I would like provide headphones and computer mice to the students. My students love working on the Chromebooks, but struggle with using the touchpad. In many of our math projects, students will be manipulating shapes, and dragging and dropping items. This is much easier to do with a mouse. While many students are able to read fluently, computer read aloud programs help struggling readers focus less on decoding words; allowing them to better understand expectations and redirect their focus to the content material. Headphones will be useful to utilize these tools without interrupting surrounding students. Thank you for taking the time to read about my project and considering supporting my classroom.
