Our students are Middle Schoolers at a suburban public school in South Carolina in a large urban/suburban school district. We are a team, teaching all four major content areas. We have developed a 21st century learning environment where students explore and create their own learning experiences. With this design we are able to have more hands-on and guided discovery learning opportunities with our students. These students range in abilities, backgrounds, and motivation, but this framework helps engage them in our content and community. Our student population is made up predominantly of under-privileged students. 54% are on free or reduced lunch. Our students are predominately African American students, and over 20% qualify for special education services.
