Welcome to my page! I have been teaching for 15 years. I have taught first grade for 12 of those years. First grade is a challenging year for most students, as this is the year they are really learning how to read. However, this is what I love the most! I love to see their eyes light up when they finally "get" something! I love to see how proud they are of themselves when they have gained a new level in reading, or even more than one level! My heart really swells when they have been reluctant readers, but then they tell me, "I love reading! It is so fun and I get to learn all about new things on my own" I like seeing how well they can write at the end of the year compared to the end of the year. I love seeing the growth they make from the beginning of the year to the end in Reading, Writing, and Math! Math is also very special to my heart! I try to teach students that there is more than one way to solve a problem.
