This is my 2nd year with this grade level and I have learned a lot in what could benefit my students more in their learning. These materials will help my students by enriching their centers and small groups so that they may practice and apply their knowledge. Such as in the writing center or during writers workshop students may use the dotted stamps in creating their word in their journal so they may trace. Giving them a variety of manipulatives so that they don’t get bored of the same material. An example of how they will use the material is by have the option one week using the rubbing stencil of the alphabet or numbers verses the dotted stamps. This will also help with making the learning a fun hands on experience for them to carry the excitement and love of learning. A creative way in practicing letters or numbers is by wearing the paint aprons and using the paint containers and brushes in creating a representation (justification of knowledge acquired) of the lesson. Another fun activity is in the listening center they may listen to the variety of books on CD and follow along with the book. This past year my cassette player and headphones ended up giving out on us so I had to close it down.
