Most of my students will never leave the city in which they currently live. This means that they will never travel the world, so it is up to teachers to show them other cultures, and one way to do this is through music. These drums- djembes and doumbeks- are one way to do that, and through an activity that all students love...drumming. Drum circles have been proven to help students with emotional issues. Many of my students, whether diagnosed or not, have these issues, and are dealing with them every day. I would love to be able to start a drum circle with my students, but need drums to be able to do so. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to help people just by letting them play on some drums?
