Students will be using all these materials to help optimize their independent work. When working at the small group table, students will have a space where they can learn 1-on-1 or with others. This space can also be used for book club meet-ups and debate judge panels. Components including the rug, chairs, and pillow are for them to get comfortable not only mentally, but physically in order to help them feel 'zen' when reading and writing. It is in my best interest as an instructor to not only provide them the service of a high-quality education, but to make them feel comfortable when collaborating with other and finding themselves in a safe place when absorbing the skills they will use throughout life to be socially and academically successful.
